Méthodologie de recueil

The survey was conducted among a sample of 1,090 people, representative of the French population aged 18 and over.

The representativeness of the sample was ensured by the quota method (gender, age, profession of respondent) after stratification by region and urban area.

Interviews were carried out by online self-administered questionnaire on March 23, 2026.

Ifop for LCI surveyed the political climate after the 2026 municipal elections

The Rassemblement National appears to be the big winner of the election: 52% believe it has emerged stronger, followed by the Republicans (30%), France Insoumise (26%) and the Socialist Party (23%).

Some parties also appear particularly weakened: first the Ecologists (54%), followed by the MoDem (50%) and the Communist Party (48%).

Furthermore, 46% of French people believe that Edouard Philippe would make a good candidate for the next presidential election. He is just ahead of Jordan Bardella (45%) and Marine Le Pen (42%).
