Today, financing has become an integral part of everyday life for the French.

Far from being limited to meeting only exceptional needs, it supports both everyday expenses and larger projects.

84% of French people report having used a financing solution at some point, and nearly two out of three have done so in the past two years.

Conducted by Ifop for Oney, this study shows that the use of financing is primarily driven by a desire to manage and preserve one’s budget. More than one in two recent users report having used it to better manage their finances, whether to spread out an expense over time or to preserve their savings.

The uses also appear to be very diverse: home furnishings, purchasing a vehicle, unexpected expenses, everyday expenses, and even travel and leisure.

In this context, installment or deferred payment solutions play a particularly important role and now affect a large portion of the population.

A majority of recent users report a positive experience: 61% believe that their most recent use of financing had a favorable effect on their situation, particularly by allowing them to better spread out their expenses, preserve their savings, or gain peace of mind.

This trend is expected to continue: 75% of French people would consider using a financing solution over the next two years if the need arose, particularly to finance home furnishings, the purchase of a vehicle, or home improvements.
