While 8 out of 10 French people consider eating well a priority, 35% admit to having difficulty eating the way they would like to on a daily basis. Between enjoyment, health concerns, budget constraints, and the fight against food waste, food choices involve many trade-offs.
The study conducted by Ifop for Liebherr highlights an obstacle that is sometimes underestimated: food storage. In fact, 78% of French people say that their storage options influence their purchases of fresh produce. Furthermore, 69% refrain from buying as much fresh fruit as they would like, for fear of not being able to store it properly.
Better storage for better eating: the results underscore the full potential of proper food storage. Under ideal conditions, 83% of French people would buy more fresh produce, 81% would buy more seasonal produce, and 78% would reduce food waste.
This finding serves as a reminder that eating well isn’t just about what’s on your plate—it’s also about how you store your food!
